Expedition Portfolio · Application-Based Enrollment

Real environments. Real pressure. Earned capability.

Untamed Tribe expeditions are not vacations. They are multi-day operations across mountains, oceans, rivers, caves, and remote wilderness — designed to develop decision-making, leadership, and self-reliance in the only environments that can actually teach them. Every seat is filled by application, not by checkout.

The Portfolio

Five environments. One progression system.

Each expedition is a node on the larger pathway — ETP → EPC → Expedition → Advanced → Guide. Pick the environment that matches your readiness. We will tell you honestly if it's the right call.

DOMESTIC · ALPINE $2,500–$4,500

Colorado Alpine

High-country traverse with route-finding, weather decision-making, load-carry under altitude, and evening debriefs that translate mountain decisions into leadership at home.

  • 7–10 days, Cordillera-style operational tempo
  • Daily readiness brief + after-action review
  • Garmin inReach check-ins, sat comms on team

Apply

DOMESTIC · WATER $2,500–$4,500

Florida Springs & Cave Country

Technical water environments in North Florida — dive systems, navigation in zero-vis, gas planning, team protocols. Built with the cave-diving community we already operate inside.

  • NAUI/TDI-standard dive operations
  • Pre-trip skills assessment required
  • Run by Sam's water-operations team

Apply

DOMESTIC · BACKCOUNTRY $2,500–$4,500

Appalachian Traverse

Multi-day ridge and river work in the Carolinas. Land navigation, weather windows, small-team logistics, and the kind of fatigue that makes leadership visible whether you want it to be or not.

  • Map, compass, and decision-making under load
  • Veteran & first-responder scholarship seats available
  • Cohort Discord opens 8 weeks before departure

Apply

INTERNATIONAL · FLAGSHIP $5,000–$9,000

Peru — Cordillera Blanca

The flagship. Andean trekking, altitude, austere logistics, and a team operating in country with vetted local partners. This is where the pathway pays off — and where the standard is unambiguous.

  • 10–14 days; 12-week pre-expedition prep arc
  • EPC completion or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Documentary capture for AAR + Tales of the Untamed

Apply

INTERNATIONAL · MARINE $5,000–$9,000

Belize — Cave & Reef

Jungle ingress, cenote systems, and reef-side operations with a country team we trust. Built for participants with prior dive depth and a willingness to operate inside a small, accountable team.

  • Multi-environment: jungle, cave, marine
  • Dive certification + medical screening required
  • Local-operator partnership reduces logistics risk

Apply

ADVANCED · 2026 PIPELINE

Patagonia & Iceland (Planning)

Advanced environments are seated by invitation from prior cohorts. If you've completed an international expedition with us, your lead guide initiates the conversation — not the marketing team.

  • Pre-requisite: completed Peru or Belize
  • Limited seats per environment
  • Feeder into Guide Development Track

Honest Filter

Who this is for — and who it isn't.

We have built Untamed Tribe for combat veterans, first responders, engineers, founders, and executives between roughly 30 and 55 who have earned external success and are looking for a developmental environment, not a curated vacation. If the description below isn't you, the answer isn't to soften the program — it's to find a different program.

This is for you if

  • You will train before you arrive, not after
  • You want mentorship from people who have operated under pressure
  • You read long-form, listen to Jocko, Andy Stumpf, Attia, Glover
  • You're willing to be screened, paired, and held to a standard

This is not for you if

  • You're booking a "transformational getaway" or bucket-list trip
  • You want hand-holding through the readiness standards
  • You're looking for a corporate retreat or ropes course
  • You expect to opt out of the evening debriefs

Operating Standard

How an Untamed Tribe expedition runs.

Application, screening, pre-expedition prep, the field, and a structured After-Action Review. The standard doesn't change because the destination does.

01 · APPLY

Application & Screening

Fitness baseline, prior experience, intent. We decline applications that aren't a fit — and tell you why.

02 · CALL

Discovery Call

30–45 minutes with Derek or Sam. Fit assessment, not a sales pitch. Both sides decide.

03 · PREP

12-Week Prep Arc

Training plan, gear consultation, cohort Discord, medical screening, fitness benchmarks before departure.

04 · FIELD & AAR

Expedition & Debrief

Daily ops, evening debriefs, structured AAR within 7 days of return. Pathway to what's next.

Deposits & payment plans. 25% to secure your seat, 50% at 90 days out, 25% at 30 days out. Stripe-processed. Travel insurance recommendations sent with your confirmation kit. Veteran and first-responder seats: 10–15% off or sponsored where available.

Next Step

If the standard reads right, apply.

We don't run open booking. We run an application. It takes about 10 minutes and tells us whether the next conversation is a discovery call or a recommendation to keep training and come back.

Capability over comfort. Standards over scale. Earned, not flashy.
